Can a website unlock Activation Lock for me?+
Activation Lock is designed to prevent someone else from using a lost or stolen device. It can be removed by entering the Apple Account credentials previously used on the device, by the prior owner removing it from their account, or by Apple after reviewing a support request with valid proof of purchase. Avoid services that promise to bypass the lock.
I bought a used iPhone and it asks for someone else’s Apple Account. What should I do?+
Contact the seller or previous owner and ask them to remove the device from their account. If they cannot or will not, return the device if possible. Apple may review an Activation Lock support request when you have valid proof of purchase.
How do I recover access to my Apple Account?+
Start at iforgot.apple.com and follow Apple’s account recovery instructions. Recovery may take time while Apple verifies your identity. Do not share verification codes or passwords with anyone offering to speed it up.
